Agave Azul

Hospitality | Florida

For their newest restaurant, Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana in Orlando, Florida, the team set out to create a layered approach to hospitality design where movement, color, and texture work together to shape the experience. Interstruct Inc. led the design and build, delivering a space that feels immersive within a high-traffic tourist area. Instead of relying on walls or partitions, the layout uses shifts in material to guide circulation and define each zone. You move through the space with intention, as transitions underfoot and across vertical surfaces establish rhythm and structure.

At Agave Azul, the tile palette drives that experience. A deep blue wall tile creates a strong first impression, adding depth and contrast along the entrance walls while defining the central bar as a focal point. A rich tobacco-toned accent tile reinforces that moment, wrapping the bar’s pillars and introducing contrast. In surrounding areas, a warm neutral floor tile with subtle decorative variation grounds the space with a more natural texture, softening the overall composition. A soft greige surface adds another layer, introducing texture without overwhelming the space. Each material plays a specific role, coming together to create a unified environment where variation feels controlled and intentional.

The team at Interstruct chose Trinity Surfaces for its ability to deliver materials that support both design intent and long-term performance. These selections meet the demands of a high-traffic hospitality setting while reinforcing the overall concept. Agave Azul shows how tile can move beyond a finish and become part of the architecture itself, shaping how the space looks, feels, and functions.
